Thinking of Others

Ways To Give Back

Holiday Season

During the holiday season there are many drives for different causes.  When you are shopping or going through your closet, think of others.  Some people might just need a pair of gloves, or a DVD could be a great present for the holidays for those who have none.  Here is a list of some charitable drives.  Also check out your local community centers or libraries as they might be sponsoring a drive for your local community.

Good Morning America's Warm Hearts, Warm Coats Drive

Good Morning America along with Burlington Coat Factory is sponsoring a new and used coat drive for those who have no winter coats.

World Vision

World Vision is sponsoring Christmas gifts that you can buy in honor of someone.  For example, for $75 you can buy a goat for a family in a 3rd world country in honor of your brother.  A goat can provide milk, cheese, and additional income to a family.

Samaritan's Purse

Samaritans Purse sponsors Operation Christmas Child.  People fill shoe boxes with gifts for kids.  They are then sent to 3rd world countries for children who have very little.

Salvation Army

Salvation Army sponsors Holiday Angel Giving Tree program which collects toys and new clothing for needy families.  They then distribute them to local families.
