Thinking of Others
Ideas To Help
Food Banks
Many people in America and around the world are hungry. They cannot afford much food, if any at all, so they live in a state of hunger. Imagine not being able to go to the refrigerator and pull out a drink, or a snack.
There are organizations in your local area that provide hot meals, pantry items, and perishable food to families that need it. These are usually called Soup Kitchens or Food Banks. They take monetary or food donations and distribute food to those who need it.
The food banks usually have a list of items needed. So when you go to the grocery store, and an item is on sale, pick up an extra one for your local food bank or soup kitchen. Help a neighbor in need. It can be as small as a can of soup, or as much as an entire dinner.
To locate your local food bank go to Feeding America and type in your zip code.

Make Some Extra For Others
When you are making applesauce, bread, or popsicles, make an extra batch. Take that extra and give it to a neighbor,or an elderly person in your area. Start building relationships with those in your community. You never know what a loaf of bread and a smile can mean to someones day.
