Create Your Own Popsicles

What's Up?

Have you ever wanted to create your own Popsicle?  The ones in the store come in different flavors and shapes, But at the end of the box you end up with flavors you do not love, or the shape you do not want (most likely because your brother took it).  Make your own in the flavors you love.

Idea

Make popsicles using molds, cups, and trays.  Using your imagination you can create your fun frozen snack to eat and share them with your friends and family.

How Does It Help?

Depending on the recipe, the popsicles will have less sugar than store bought, will contain little to no preservatives or additives, and healthy fruit can be added for more nutrition.

Drip Less Popsicles

Ingredients

1 package of fruit flavored jello mix

1 package of Kool-Aid mix

2/3 cup of hot water

2 cups of cold water

1 cup of sugar

Directions

In a large pouring pitcher mix together jello, kool-aid, and hot water until blended.  Add cold water.

Pour into cups or molds.

Variations

To make multi-colored popsicles, make two different types of the mixture above.  Pour the cups half full with the first mixture, and let freeze.  Once they are frozen, add the second mixture and then let freeze.  Repeat this process for as many layers as you desire.

To make a creamsicle, pour the above liquid into a cup.  Let freeze.  When frozen, add a layer of softened ice cream or frozen yogurt.  When the ice cream refreezes, add another layer of the above mixture.  Freeze.   This will make a nice creamsicle on those hot days.
